Lilypie Angel and Memorial tickers

"
My story is important not because it is mine, God knows, but because if I tell it anything like right, the chances are you will recognize that in many ways it is also yours… it is precisely through these stories in all their particularity, as I have long believed and often said, that God makes himself known to each of us more powerfully and personally. If this is true, it means that to lose track of our stories is to be profoundly impoverished not only humanly but also spiritually."

Dear God,

Do you have a baby for me, too? Amen.

Teaching Tidbit

Today we read a book called Sloppy Joe. It is about a kid who is super messy, and then he decides to consciously better himself and become Neat Joe. At the end of the story, the parents tell him they loved him exactly the way he was as Sloppy Joe.

The kids loved the book, and I (forever trying to encourage reading comprehension) ask, "So, has that ever happened to you? Have you ever felt there is something about yourself that needs to be changed and set out to change it?"

Most of the kids said, "No!" There was nothing they would change about themselves (which was precious all on its own)!

One child, however, had a different answer (this is a child we have been working very hard with behavior wise). He announced, very serious like, "Yes! I used to be troublesome, but now I have been working to be less troublesome! But I am still sometimes naughty!"

Where do they GET these things? I swear, this job is the best ever. I laugh ALL. DAY. LONG. :)
